Onkyo Braille Essay Contest
For several years, a Braille essay contest, sponsored by the Onkyo Corporation, has been held in Japan and in certain regions of the world. The purpose of the contest is to promote Braille literacy and to encourage the sharing of social and cultural information among blind and visually impaired persons. This year, the contest runs until June 30, 2009, and the winners will receive cash prizes.
Essays entered into the contest are to be from 800-1,000 words and written in Braille.

The Sound of Books
On March 14, 2009, the CCB Ottawa Book Club was featured in the Globe and Mail. The article The Sound of Books talks about the working relationship between CCB, Community Foundation of Ottawa, Ottawa Public Library and CNIB in order to run this successful and exciting book club.
